Orlando Pirates: Jose Riveiro considering LEAVING!

Posted on December 19, 2025

Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro is considering leaving the Soweto giants. Here’s why.

Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro is a Bucs fan-favourite. Understandably.

Moroever, the Pirates head coach has won five trophies with the Bucs. Furthermore, he has brought them back into the CAF Champions League and they currently sit at the top of the latest BetWay Premiership standings. However, he is considering leaving the club.

RIVEIRO CONSIDERING RETURNING HOME IF PIRATES WIN

Riveiro’s current contract is set to expire in June 2025.

Meanwhile, Bucs management want to offer the Pirates head coach a three-year extension at the club.

However, Riveiro has not signed the extension as he is missing home. Furthermore, he is considering leaving Pirates to return home if they win the league.

“There is an offer for the coach to continue for another three years, but he has asked to wait until the end of the season. His main wish is to win the league, and if that happens, he may leave because he misses home. He hasn’t been with his family for almost three years, and winning the league title would mean he has achieved almost everything in local football. The league title may decide the coach’s future. That’s what’s believed as things stand,” the insider stated on SoccerLaduma.

Meaning, Riviero could leave Pirates if they win the 2024/25 BetWay Premiership.

BIG MOVES ON THE HORIZON AT MAYFAIR

Pirates are planning some big changes to their squad in the PSL transfer window in January.

So, Pirates want to sign these FOUR players from PSL rivals. Additionally, SIX Bucs are linked with exits with Europe and even Kaizer Chiefs reportedly linked.

Finally, Pirates have been spotted with a new coach from PSL rivals.

IF PIRATES WIN THE LEAGUE WILL YOU BE OKAY WITH RIVEIRO LEAVING? WHO SHOULD REPLACE HIM IF HE LEAVES?
