Orlando Pirates fans to wait for 12 days

Posted on September 1, 2025

Orlando Pirates fans must cool their excitement just when the team after the team heated up in the 3-0 win over Chippa United on Sunday.

The FIFA international break now forces the Buccaneers faithful to wait 12 long days before seeing Orlando Pirates on the green grass again.

The next assignment? A massive MTN8 final against Stellenbosch FC at the Mbombela Stadium on 13 September.

BAFANA BAFANA PAUSE ORLANDO PIRATES’ MOMENTUM

The Sea Robbers will not be in action this week due to the national team’s two FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Nigeria.

Untimely break for Orlando Pirates

The untimely breaks come after five games unbeaten for Orlando Pirates in both the Betway Premiership and MTN8.

  • 1-1 draw with Mamelodi Sundowns
  • 1-0 win over Stellenbosch FC
  • 1-1 (4-1 win on penalties) over Sundowns
  • 1-0 win over Orbit College FC
  • 3-0 win over Chippa United.

MTN8 FINAL AGAINST STELLENBOSCH FC

The showdown with Stellenbosch on 13 September promises fireworks. Orlando Pirates are set on lifting a record fourth MTN8 crown on the bounce.

  • Orlando Pirates are the defending MTN8 champions after beating the same team last year.
  • Stellenbosch FC won only one major trophy, the Carling Knockout in 2023.

The wait will be unbearable for the Sea Robbers’ faithful, who are desperate to see their side in another cup showdown. It will feel like a drag, but the prize on the other side is a shot at silverware.

WILL THE MTN8 CROWN STAY WITH ORLANDO PIRATES?
