Orlando Pirates coach Ouaddou stays confident

Posted on January 25, 2026

Orlando Pirates returned from the mid-season break hoping for a statement win against Sekhukhune United.

The Soweto giants instead settled for a goalless draw after a stubborn performance from Babina Noko.

The result keeps the Buccaneers in second spot, level on points with Mamelodi Sundowns, and with a game in hand.

ABDESLAM OUADDOU CREDITS HIS ORLANDO PIRATES PLAYERS

Head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou praised his squad’s effort and intensity, insisting he’s not losing sleep over dropped points.

“I think the intensity from like you’ve seen the players did a great game in terms of intensity in terms of creating chances in the first and second half.

“Unfortunately, the ball didn’t want to go inside the net, it’s football,” Ouaddou told SuperSport TV post-match.

“I don’t have anything to approach to my players, they were disciplined technically, tactically, they were on point. We played against a very good team as well, of course we’re a bit disappointed because we deserved to win that game.

About how Orlando Pirates organised their team spirit as well. But I’m not worried if we can continue to play like that for sure we will continue to be dynamic and winning games.

“Maybe, maybe it’s something that happens when you play first game, but what I know we did everything to win. My players went over the limit, but today was not the day, and we have to respect that,” the French-Moroccan concluded.
