Orlando Pirates are winning everything this season

Posted on December 14, 2025

Orlando Pirates are currently on a remarkable winning streak, having secured their third trophy of the season.

Under the management of Abdeslam Ouaddou, the Buccaneers appear to be performing better than they ever did under Jose Riveiro.

The former coach, Riveiro, won five trophies in three seasons and successfully returned the team to its glory days. However, he was unable to capture the two trophies that the fans desire most: the Betway Premiership and the CAF Champions League.

In September, Orlando Pirates comfortably defeated Stellenbosch FC to claim their fourth MTN8 title. Three months later, they added the elusive Carling Knockout Cup to their achievements. Most recently, on Saturday, Ouaddou’s team edged past Carling All Stars to secure their third trophy of the season.

With the squad depth and talent they possess, the Buccaneers seem to be just getting started.

Why Orlando Pirates will complete ‘operation vat alles’

Nine of the Pirates players are currently with the national team, it gives the players more continental experience more so than the CAF Champions League.

Playing the likes of Egypt, Morocco and Senegal will elevate the players and make them more hungry in the second half of the season.

Orlando Pirates currently top the Betway Premiership with two points but have played a games less. A few more wins could see them extend their lead and potentially run with the title.

Rivals Mamelodi Sundowns are focused on CAF which could give the Buccaneers a big advantage in the title fight.
