Orlando Pirates announce Player of the Month

Posted on October 6, 2025

Orlando Pirates’ remarkable September form has been marked, and so has one of their standout stars.

The Betway Premiership giants confirmed that Tshepang Moremi has been voted the club’s Player of the Month for September.

It’s an honour well earned. The Sea Robbers played five matches across three competitions, the MTN8, Betway Premiership and CAF Champions League, winning all five, scoring 13 goals and conceding none. And at the heart of that dominance was Moremi.

TSHEPANG MOREMI NAMED ORLANDO PIRATES’ BEST PLAYER IN SEPTEMBER

The 24-year-old winger, who joined Orlando Pirates from AmaZulu FC in July, delivered four goals and two assists during the month.

Remarkably, he has already equalled his total from last season at AmaZulu, where he scored four goals in 31 games, showing his fans how quickly he has adapted to life in Soweto.

Supporters made their voices heard, handing him 38% of the total votes, ahead of Oswin Apollis (21%) and Mbekezeli Mbokazi (13%).

His performance in the MTN8 final against Stellenbosch FC sealed his hero status, a brace and an assist on the big stage to deliver the first trophy of the season.

WHAT’S NEXT?

The Sharpeville-born player is currently in the Bafana Bafana after making coach Hugo Broos’ squad. South Africa will battle Zimbabwe on Friday, October 10, at 18:00 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium, and then Rwanda next Tuesday at 18:00 at the Mbombela Stadium.

His next match for Orlando Pirates will be in Congo against Sait Lupopo in the CAF Champions League on the weekend of 17-18 October.
