Only five points from a possible 12

Posted on September 25, 2025

Kaizer Chiefs have failed to win their past three matches this season despite a promising start.

Under assistant coach Khalil Ben Youssef, Amakhosi won their opening three league matches without conceding a single goal. Their first hiccup was against Mamelodi Sundowns, where they dropped two points at home.

This was the match which saw the return of head coach Nasreddine Nabi after missing the opening matches due to a family emergency. The Tunisian suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Sekhukhune United before he stepped aside pending club investigation.

Chiefs then went on to lose 1-0 to Angolan side Kabuscorp before a 1-1 draw with Marumo Gallants midweek. Failure to win three matches had raised alarming concerns at Naturena and supporters are worried that the season might turn into a nightmare.

What did the Chiefs coach say?

Amakhosi assistant coach Ben Youssef felt his side played well against Gallants but just failed to score the winner.

“Congratulations to Marumo Gallants for the points and hard luck for us, now finish this game and now think about the next game,” he said as per GOAL.

“Very important game this Saturday for us, we have to think, and I’m sorry for the fans today, and we hope will make them happy Saturday.

“I know that we have not won in the last three games, but the most important thing for us is the performance, rather than the result. The team performed well, and we were unlucky not to score more goals to win this game,” the Chiefs coach added.

Can Amakhosi bounce back?
