Official: Pirates Announce First January Exit

Posted on January 6, 2026

Orlando Pirates have announced the exit of Sinoxolo Kwayiba, who returns to Chippa United.

Kwayiba, 25, only joined the Buccaneers from Chippa in the previous transfer window and has now returned to the Chilli Boys.

The attacking midfielder made just four appearances at Pirates, and will hope to regain momentum in Gqeberha.

“Orlando Pirates would like to thank Sinoxolo Kwayiba for his service as he returns to Chippa United FC on a permanent move. We wish him well,” the club stated.

Kwayiba was one of 13 signings by Pirates during the previous transfer window but found game-time under the competition for spots hard to come by.

His chances of playing would’ve been even harder after Pirates announced the signing of Andre De Jong. The 25-year-old has made three appearances for Bafana Bafana and scored in a 2-0 win over Mozambique in June.
