K. Beerschot V.A. have officially announced the signing of Amajita striker Siviwe Magidigidi from Siwelele Football Club.
Siwelele had already confirmed the sale of the 20-year-old to the Belgian side last week. The club are currently in third place in the Challenge Pro League.
Magidigidi leaves after an impressive first half of the Betway Premiership campaign, where he scored four goals in 12 appearances. He also scored twice for Amajita at the FIFA U20 World Cup last year.
Having come through the Ubuntu Academy in Cape Town, Magidigidi joined SuperSport United in 2023. Siwelele purchased the SuperSport franchise last year.
Magidigidi is the latest Ubuntu graduate to play abroad, joining players like Antonio Van Wyk (SV Ried), Zimbabwean Munashe Garananga (FC Copenhagen), Ghanaian Prince Amponsah (SD Ejea) and Calem Tommy (Houston Dynamo). Flecher Smythe-Lowe (Estoril) was also at Ubuntu before heading to Portugal in 2020.

Magidigidi will join former SuperSport teammate Shandre Campbell in Belgium, with Campbell playing for Club Brugge. Campbell has also featured for Brugge’s second team Club Nxt in the same division where Beerschot are currently playing. Another South African featuring in the league is Kurt Abrahams, who is having a good campaign for league-leaders Beveren, with 5 goals and 2 assists in 18 games.
