Nurkovic, Saile and co. return to face Kaizer Chiefs

Posted on October 21, 2025

Kaizer Chiefs return to FNB Stadium hungry for three points against Siwelele FC in the Betway Premiership.

The Glamour Boys sit fourth on the table, six points behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns but with two games in hand. Four wins, three draws, and a single defeat from eight games underline a team that’s steady, if not yet spectacular.

Wednesday evening’s 19:30 kickoff carries an intriguing storyline featuring five former Amakhosi players.

SIWELELE FC TO TRAVEL WITH FAMILIAR FACES

Samir Nurkovic
At his peak, Nurkovic was Kaizer Chiefs’ great goal machine, 13 league goals in the 2019/20 season made him a cult hero. The 33-year-old Serbian left Naturena in 2022 after registering 21 goals and 10 assists in 78 appearances. Now leading the line for Siwelele, he is still searching for his first goal after two outings. Amakhosi fans know his eye for a goal.

Christian Saile
The Congolese forward’s story has been a busy one. Saile, 25, left the Soweto giants in a January swap that sent Tashreeq Morris the other way. The club has since transformed into Siwelele FC, but the goals have been harder to come by for Saile, who’s yet to score in nine games.

Tebogo Potsane
Few players have something to prove like Potsane. The 32-year-old winger parted ways with Amakhosi in August and wasted no time settling at Siwelele, where he’s already opened his account with one goal in four matches. His Amakhosi spell produced no goals in 19 appearances.

KAIZER CHIEFS LOANEES

Samkelo Zwane and Happy Mashiane
Then there are the loanees. Zwane, 23, and Mashiane, 27, both joined Siwelele FC on season-long deals to gain valuable minutes. Zwane, central midfielder, featured 13 times for Chiefs last season, while Mashiane, left-back, made nine appearances.
