Kaizer Chiefs legend Siyabonga Nomvethe has listed the differences between himself and the man who dethroned him as the PSL all-time top goal scorer, Peter Shalulile.
Shalulile recently broke and surpassed Bhele’s record of 129 goals that stood for just over six years, a feat the former Bafana Bafana international applauded and thought was well deserved.
Nomvethe told iDiski Times senior writer Matshelane Mamabolo in edition 220 of the newspaper that though they both know how to score, their styles of play are different with the Namibian’s strength being how he positions himself.
“We are totally different because he does not have the skill and the speed that I had,” Nomvethe told iDiski Times.
“He can’t dribble or fetch the ball from the back like I used to. But for his side, he knows how to position himself and he knows how to find the net.”
With Shalulile already on 130 goals and his nearest competitor Bradley Grobler of Sekhukhune United with 121 goals, Nomvethe is expecting more goals from the Mamelodi Sundowns forward.
“Look, he is still playing, and though I don’t know how many goals he will continue to score, I am sure he will score more. The league season has only just started, so he will add more.”
