Nigeria lost Victor Osimhen to injury in the first half of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Rwanda.
The Super Eagles need a win to keep their slim hopes of qualifying for the World Cup alive, but so far it remains goalless at the break.
Osimhen had to come off after 35 minutes after what looked like a calf injury, and was replaced by Cyriel Dessers.
The Galatasaray striker had the ball in the back of the net in the first 10 minutes but was flagged for offside.
The 26-year-old scored three goals in the FIFA World Cup qualifiers so far, netting a brace in the reverse fixture to help Nigeria to their only win of the qualifiers.
Nigeria sit on eight points in the live log, one behind Rwanda, but more importantly eight behind leaders Bafana Bafana – which would all but end their hopes of securing first spot in Group C.
Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari has also been treated multiple times during the first half after picking up some sort of shoulder injury – but so far he has remained on the pitch as the teams enter the break.
