Joseph Makhanya has been given a new role to assist Abdeslam Ouaddou, while Orlando Pirates’ DDC side having come back with a new head coach Roscoe Krieling.

Krieling joined the Buccaneers after his former side SuperSport United were purchased by Siwelele FC, who later moved the club to Bloemfontein.

While Makhanya has taken over as the head coach of Pirates feeder club Pele Pele FC, he has been given a role to oversee the reserve team.

Moreover, it is understood that ‘Dukuduku’, as he’s well-known in football circles, is also contributing as a third assistant coach to Abdeslam Ouaddou in the first team despite not having been seen on the bench.

Pirates are kicking off the new campaign in the DStv Diski Challenge against Durban City at the Mpumalanga Stadium in Hammarsdale.

They will be aiming to fight for the title this season after finishing last campaign in the fifth position with 47 points after 28 games.
