Today’s Kaizer Chiefs transfer rumour wrap looks at potential targets at both ends of the pitch before the window closes on 22 September.

Long-time target Khanyisa Mayo is finally a Glamour Boy.

Meanwhile, Chiefs would make a move for a goalkeeper from Africa.

OFFICIAL: Kaizer Chiefs are still the biggest club in South Africa

Kaizer Chiefs alerted to Mayo’s availability

Former TS Galaxy boss and current Belouizdad manager Sead Ramovic decided against registering 27-year-old Khanyisa Mayo for the 2025-2026 campaign. In his debut season there, Mayo made 41 appearances across all competitions, scoring six times. Mayo’s last Bafana Bafana outing was a thrilling 3-3 draw against Algeria in a friendly in 2024. Chiefs have officially signed the Umtata-born striker.

“Kaizer Chiefs are proud to announce the one-year loan signing of Khanyisa Mayo, who returns to South Africa after a season with CR Belouizdad in Algeria,” Amakhosi confirmed.

What’s next in the league for Kaizer Chiefs?

Let’s not forget the club’s 55 trophies in their storied history, including 13 league crowns. They’re also, by far and away, the most followed club in the land. Next up is a top-of-the-table clash with Sekhukhune, who boast an identical record to their illustrious opponents so far this season: 12 points from five matches and zero defeats. Chiefs vs Sekhukhune kicks off on Tuesday, 16 September at 19:30.
