Kaizer Chiefs have positive news on a new deal for Inacio Miguel, but there’s still uncertainty over several senior players’ futures.
Miguel earns new Kaizer Chiefs deal
According to a Citizen source, Inacio Miguel is close to signing a new contract with Chiefs. The 30-year-old Angolan star has made 16 league appearances this term and made 53 appearances overall since joining in August 2024. Perhaps alarmingly, the Portugal-born defender has picked up 18 bookings in his Kaizer Chiefs tenure, at an average of more than one yellow card every three games.
“I’m not sure about the length of the new contract, but what I can tell you is that Miguel is definitely staying with Chiefs,” said the source.

Fan-favourite and academy talent Nkosingiphile Ngcobo has been under fire in recent campaigns for his failure to string together consistent performances, with Injuries ravaging the 26-year-old’s career to date. He hasn’t managed more than 16 appearances in any of the last five Betway Premiership campaigns and has only chalked up 36 in his last three. However, there are promising signs that he might have started to banish those injury demons. Could the board be ready to tie him down to a longer deal?
