Nedbank Cup last 32 draw!

Posted on January 15, 2026

The draw for the Nedbank Cup Round of 32 was conducted on Thursday, setting the stage for the 2026 edition of the competition.

Kaizer Chiefs return as defending champions after last season’s 2–1 victory over rivals Orlando Pirates. It ended the club’s 10-year wait for a major trophy.

The focus now shifts to whether they can successfully defend the title, starting away to Stellenbosch FC.

2026 NEDBANK CUP DRAW

For several teams, the Nedbank Cup is the last opportunity to taste silverware in 2025/26. Orlando Pirates have already claimed both the MTN8 and the Carling Knockout Cup, meaning the Ke Yona Cup remains a realistic route to silverware for clubs still searching for success this campaign.

As is tradition, eight amateur teams are part of the Round of 32, each hoping to progress and make an impact against top-flight opposition.

Last season’s runners-up Orlando Pirates, will be away to third-division side Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila. The Betway Premiership champions, Mamelodi Sundowns, will host Motsepe Foundation Championship newcomers Gomora United.

FULL LAST 32 DRAW:

Stellenbosch FC vs Kaizer Chiefs

Army Rockets FC Vs Casric Stars

Hungry Lions vs AmaTuks

The match dates and venues will be announced in due course.

NEDBANK CUP WINNERS SINCE THE FIRST EDITION IN 2008

Under the current Nedbank Cup format, this season’s leading challengers, Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates, are the most successful clubs.

Kabo Yellow and the Buccaneers have become champions four times each. Sundowns lifted the trophy in the 2007–08, 2014–15, 2019–20 and 2021–22 seasons. Orlando Pirates dominated in 2010–11, 2013–14, 2022–23 and 2023–24.

The now-defunct SuperSport United won three times between 2011 and 2017. The mighty Kaizer Chiefs have lifted the trophy twice, in 2012–13 as well as the 2024–25 season.

One-time champions include Moroka Swallows, Bidvest Wits, Free State Stars, TS Galaxy and Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC.
