Ndlovu – Why Pirates & Chiefs Can’t Be Compared

Posted on September 16, 2025

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siphesihle Ndlovu has opened up about featuring for both Soweto giants Orlando Pirates and Amakhosi, saying they can’t be compared with one another.

Ndlovu was on the books of Pirates between 2019 and 2022 where he made 41 appearances and scored two goals however didn’t enjoy a lot of game time. The 28-year-old then joined the now defunct SuperSport United where he was able to resurrect his career and eventually found his way to Naturena.

So far, he has played five matches for Amakhosi and has scored one goal and admits that he would have liked to have played more games for the Buccaneers and wants to play more at Chiefs and uplift his teammates while expressing his gratitude for the privilege of having played for both.

“Most definitely, I really I wanted to have game-time because there is no footballer that just want to get paid and not play football,” said Ndlovu.

“It’s not that nice so I really want to continue doing that [playing] and I really want to lift others. And that is my main aim at Chiefs because there is a lot of competition within the club, and you really need to pull everyone to the same direction.

“You can never compare the two, but you can only be grateful that you played for both and both clubs are totally different and how they do things is different and how they set-up is absolutely different.

“But I’m very privileged to have played for both and very happy about that.”
