Golden Arrows star Siyanda Ndlovu says the arrival of coach Manqoba Mngqithi has been a major factor in his rapid improvement.
The 22-year-old joined Abafana Bes’thende in 2022 after impressing on trial with the DDC side. After just one season in the reserves, he was promoted to the senior squad by Vusumuzi Vilakazi and Mabhuti Khenyeza.
This season, Ndlovu has turned heads with a string of standout performances, earning Betway Premiership Player of the Month and Goal of the Month for September/October.
He says Mngqithi constantly challenges him, helping him improve and reach another level.
“The arrival of coach Manqoba to the club helped me so much,” said Ndlovu, speaking to the journalists.
“I feel that I have improved a lot because a lot of things, he’s always on my case. We fight a lot.
“But I can really see the results because everything I do on the field is how he coached and prepared me in training.”
Asked about the spotlight on him, Ndlovu insisted it doesn’t affect him, but it drives him to keep improving.
“I don’t pay a lot of attention to praise on social media,” he added.
“But on the other hand, it helps me because I wanna do better than what people have seen in me.
“But I’m happy with the level where I’m at right now.”
