Orlando Pirates assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi has called for redirection ahead of tonight’s Betway Premiership clash against Polokwane City.
Following an impressive run across all competitions, the Buccaneers were brought back to earth by DRC outfit St Eloi Lupopo who hammered them 3-0 in the CAF Champions League second preliminary round 1st leg clash out in Lubumbashi this past weekend.
Ncikazi is now hoping for a spirited performance despite their recent minor setback.
“It’s important to gather as many points as possible. We know the number of games are not the same but it’s still important for us to play and win matches,” Ncikazi told OP TV.
“It’s important to have a comeback, improve performances. There we are guaranteed, if we improve performances we’ll get the right results.
“Polokwane City is a unique team; the coach has a very unique style of how he sets up his team. For us, it’s to nullify the strengths of the opponent and improve our performance and adapt quickly for a new situation and a new competition.
“And win the match. That’s all that matters right now.”
The match starts at 19:30 eSgodini.
