Ncikazi Makes Bold Declaration On Carling Final

Posted on November 18, 2025

Orlando Pirates assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi has made a bold declaration ahead of the Carling Knockout Cup final.

The Buccaneers are set to face Marumo Gallants in the final on 6 December at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.

This marks their first appearance in a league cup final since the 2018/19 season, when they fell short against Baroka FC in the Telkom Knockout Cup.

Ncikazi says their preparations for the final are already well underway, noting that they began working intensively even while many of their players were away with Bafana Bafana for the international friendly against Zambia.

He says, “the plan is to win the Carling Knockout” and is confident that with the spirit he’s seen in the team, they will come out victorious.

“I like how our team has adapted, we don’t complain, if you were to try and prepare for such an important tournament,” said Ncikazi.

“Our preparations are so serious, it’s as if we are playing the cup final tomorrow, hence this is what happens in our club [success].

“We’re just serious every day, we take training sessions seriously. I’m confident with the spirit in our players, unity, support from management, I’m confident that we’re going to win the Carling Cup, that’s the plan.”

Ezimnyama Ngenkani have already lifted the trophy this season, winning the MTN8 when they defeated Stellenbosch in the final in September.
