Nasreddine Nabi frustrated as Chiefs drop points to Sundowns

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has reacted to his team’s 0-0 draw with Mamelodi Sundowns on Wednesday evening.

The 60-year-old coach was on the bench for the first time this season after attending his wife in Tunisia. Amakhosi announced that Nabi will be away to be with his wife who was involved in a serious accident earlier this month.

In his absence, Khalil Ben Youssef took over and guided the Glamour Boys to three straight wins. On Wednesday, Nabi returned and watched Kaizer Chiefs play to a goaless draw against Masandawana.

“It’s true, it’s like kind of frustrating because we believed that we could’ve got the three points, but as well there was a good team in front of us. We have a little bit of regret not getting the three points today but we going to work and look for the future,” Nabi told SuperSport.

“I would say that in the first half we struggled a little bit, but we wanted as well to leave the possession to the opponents because we know that it’s not a team that finishes well this game.

“But in the second half as well with the tactical adjustment in the midfield, it allowed us to be a little bit higher and press more higher and to stay on the front-foot. We had opportunities but unfortunately, we couldn’t convert them.”

Nabi not happy with Kaizer Chiefs’ performance

“It’s true that we haven’t lost yet, but we believe that today we could’ve got more but we are pretty sure that we are on the right direction and going to work more and be better for the next game.”

Can Chiefs win the league?
