Nabi – We Knew Sundowns Weakness

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has revealed his side knew that Mamelodi Sundowns “don’t finish games strong” and admits he feels a bit frustrated at not getting the win over the defending champions.

Chiefs and Sundowns could not be separated in front of 75 000 at the Calabash, which kept Amakhosi in second place – level on 10 points with Sekhukhune United, and two ahead of Sundowns.

“It’s true there is some kind of frustration because we believe we could’ve gotten the three points,” Nabi told SuperSportTV.

“But there was a good team in front of us. We have a little bit of regret of not having the three points today, but we’re going to work and look to the future.”

Nabi also discussed how Chiefs tried to exploit Sundowns “weakness” after Masandawana twice conceded late in games against Orlando Pirates.

“In the first half we struggled a little bit, but wanted to leave the possession to the opposition team because we know it’s not a team that finishes their games well,” he continued.

“But in the second half with the tactical adjustment in the midfield it allowed to be a little bit higher and to press higher and to stay on the front foot.

“We had opportunities but unfortunately we couldn’t convert them.”

Chiefs next face Golden Arrows on Saturday, while Sundowns travel to Stellenbosch FC.
