Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi says their heavy defeat to Sekhukhune United was an ‘accident’ attributed by mistakes.
Amakhosi saw their unbeaten run to the season come to an end as they suffered a thumping 3-1 defeat to Babina Noko at FNB Stadium on Wednesday evening. Bradley Grobler netted a brace with veteran midfielder Thabang Monare adding the third while Chiefs’ goal came from Flavio Da Silva for his second goal in his second appearance.
The Tunisian mentor however called for calm heads with no panicking saying it’s still early in the season.
“It’s true that it’s not the result that we wanted but we made so many mistakes that lead to goals especially long balls,” he told SuperSport TV.
“As well offensively we were not enough efficient especially in our progression although we created opportunities to score but we couldn’t convert them, and I would say it’s a day without and the opponents really deserved the three points today.
“The season’s still long, today we’d say that it’s an accident. We need to bring ourselves together to push for the next game [CAF Confederation Cup] because it’s gonna be a knockout game for two games. That’s a different approach. We really need to get into the first game really, really well and work very hard and as well push the players to forget about today and concentrate on the next game.
“This football sometime you have accident sometime you lose but I think we need not panic, it’s an accident. We are only starting the season.”
