Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi has offered an update on the availability of new signing Lebohang Maboe.

The midfielder joined Amakhosi recently on a free transfer after departing Mamelodi Sundowns at the end of the previous campaign, becoming the club’s tenth new signing this transfer window.

The 30-year-old is one of the few signings, awaiting their first appearances in the famous colours of the Phefeni Glamour Boys.

Nabi revealed that Maboe is still working with the fitness coach to get his fitness levels up to speed and would “soon” be available for selection.

“I think I have to say congratulations to the board, they did a very good job, they are smart with how they made the agreement [with Maboe],” said Nabi as translated from French by his assistant coach Khalil Ben Youssef.

“Maboe is an intelligent player and we need his quality, we need him. He has a lot of experience and is coming to help us with that experience from Sundowns.

“And now, he’s working with the fitness coach [and will be ready] to be with us.”

Nabi also reassured the Amakhosi faithful that, in due time, they will see all of the new signings who have yet to play get their chance to help the team.

“We also a lot of players who are yet to get a chance to help the team – [Ethan] Chislett, [Etiosa] Ighodaro, [Asanele] Velebayi and [Luke] Baartman,” Nabi added.

“For sure, in the right time, we will introduce them to make it easy for them.”
