The 2025 MTN8 semi-finals have dealt up a tantalising draw with last season’s top four in the league all involved.

Orlando Pirates were the first side to book their place in the last-four after a 2-0 win over Polokwane City in Soweto in the early kickoff, while Sekhukhune United came from 2-0 down against TS Galaxy to secure a 3-2 win at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Pirates who are chasing a record-extending fourth consecutive title in the competition and that R10-million prize that comes with it this season.

Stellenbosch also were involved in a high scoring five-goal thriller to open their season at the DHL Stadium in Cape Town in the only last-eight tie that went into extra-time, with Amajita winger Langelihle Phili scoring the winner in the 108th minute.

Meanwhile, Sundowns, fresh off their performances at the FIFA Club World Cup, flexed their superiority on Richards Bay with a routine 4-0 victory at Lucas Moripe Stadium just before the draw was conducted on Sunday evening in Tshwane.

The last-four will be played over two legs, to decide the finalists – where winner takes all.
