Kaizer Chiefs have been relatively quiet during the current transfer window with the coaches having emphasised that they are happy with the current team.
A 1-0 win over Golden Arrows on Tuesday saw the team climb to third on the Betway Premiership which will give them confidence in the second half of the season.
This week, Amakhosi announced that they have acquired the services of Xhosa Manyana on loan from Cape Town City. The 20-year-old will be part of their DDC team for the remainder of the season.
The club’s Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jr explained why Manyane was brought into the team.
Kaizer Chiefs making no movement in the transfer market
“We felt the need to augment our DDC squad for the latter part of the season, and we are delighted to bring in a player like Xhosa to supplement the talent we already have within our reserve team structure.
“We welcome Xhosa to Kaizer Chiefs and look forward to seeing the best of his undoubted abilities,” said the Kaizer Chiefs boss.
When asked if Kaizer Chiefs will sign more players this transfer window, the club’s co-coach Cedric Kaze said they were happy with the current squad.
“Sometimes there are journalists who refer to us (him and Ben Youssef) as ‘those two co-coaches’. They don’t even know our names… I am talking about Soccer Beat (a football outlet), actually, but we know what we’re doing; we are qualified. At the end of the season, we’ll meet, and I am pretty sure that everyone will apologise,” Kaze told the media.
