Kaizer Chiefs Marketing and Commercial Director Jessica Motaung says their new kits represents something exciting as they return to CAF inter-club football with renewed ambitions.

Speaking at the official day of their 2025/26 jersey launch at the Naturena Village on Monday morning, she beamed with excitement after their return from the Netherlands this weekend.

The traditional gold and black and a new shade of grey for the away kit was displayed at the club and on their official social media channels which was met with general excitement as the new season is now just weeks away.

“This means it’s a new season, we have seen fortunes change last season with winning the Nedbank Cup, what’s exciting is this new season,” Motaung said.

“We’re excited about the possibilities and making sure we’re ready, excited to launch the jersey. Home which is going back to our heritage in terms of the classic collar, which we haven’t had since we united with Kappa, so we’re excited about that.

“Something very bold, strong, the sleeves is giving us that African print, that says we’re ready to be on the continent and fight for everything on the continent. And then obviously with the grey and gold, we haven’t had it for a long time.

“It’s something very much on the combat side, but the jersey is not just about playing, it represents in the cultural streets of South Africa, on the continent and just is built within the lifestyle space as well, so we’re very excited about the new kits and looking forward to the players playing in it in the Toyota Cup this weekend.”

Amakhosi host Ghanian giants Asante Kotoko at Moses Mabhida Stadium this weekend for the second edition of the Toyota Cup and Kappa’s head representative stated the late launch of the jersey it to make sure, the club’s supporters will be able to get it countrywide on the day of the official launch.

“What we have done the past three seasons is to launch and be able to buy the jersey, so it’s countrywide as we speak,” Ricky Joseph confirmed this morning.

“On Saturday, the home jersey will be worn in the first half and the away jersey in the second half to display the new jerseys. We can’t get too creative with the home jersey’s we keep it gold and black.

“The away jersey in the first season was green, second season was black with the feathers of the Chief and this season, Jessica and myself decided to go with a few textures and shades of grey. There’s about four or five greys in the actual jersey together, with the Kaizer Chiefs gold again.”
