Motaung daughter asks Chiefs fans to ignore Pirates and Sundowns

Posted on January 16, 2026

Kaizer Chiefs supporters have been sent a short, warm message from the club’s chairman, Kaizer Motaung, this week.

Kemiso Motaung, daughter of club chairman Kaizer Motaung and head of digital at Amakhosi, called on the supporters to stay calm, ignore rival chatter and trust the club’s plan.

PRESSURE FROM ORLANDO PIRATES AND MAMELODI SUNDOWNS

The direct chat with the Kaizer Chiefs faithful was delivered from the OR Tambo International Airport in a video shared by @s_ledile, Motaung on X.

The message comes at a time when pressure is growing on Kaizer Chiefs to make moves in the transfer market. Football Manager Bobby Motaung previously told the media that the club has no plans to sign players this month.

Rivals Orlando Pirates, top of the Betway Premiership and winners of both the MTN8 and Carling Knockout Cup this season, have signed three players: Andre de Jong from Stellenbosch FC, plus Marumo Gallants duo Daniel Msendami and Mpho Cahabatsane.

Mamelodi Sundowns, chasing hard behind the Sea Robbers in the title race, have also been active. The Brazilians have brought in Monnapule Saleng from Orlando Pirates, Khulumani Ndamane from TS Galaxy, and Colombian striker Brayan Leon.

WHAT KEMISO TOLD KAIZER CHIEFS FANS

Kemiso spoke with warmth and clarity, reminding fans how they are valued. She pleaded with them to filter out the noise.

“I have this message for you from the chairman, he says he loves you very much,” she said. “He is always reminding us how important you are.”

Kemiso addressed the growing chatter online. “Don’t worry about what is going on in social media, ukuthi bathini, abantu bePirates abantu beSundowns bayasihleka,” she told supporters, urging them not to stress over what others are saying.

“We are focused. We are working hard. It will take us some time. We need you more than ever. The players need your support more than ever,” she added.

She closed with gratitude and reassurance: “Thank you for being so passionate… thank you. Don’t stress, don’t listen to the noise. We are going to be okay. It will take us some time. We are going in this together. We want to thank you guys for being with us.”
