Morocco’s national team head coach Walid Regragui has addressed recent speculation about his position after South African media reports suggested Orlando Pirates manager José Riveiro could replace him. Regragui, the history-making coach who guided Morocco to the 2022 World Cup semifinals, acknowledged the team’s disappointing early exit from the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast. However, the FRMF has maintained its trust in his leadership as the Atlas Lions prepare for two major challenges: hosting the 2025 AFCON and competing in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
