Mofokeng’s return and Nduli’s injury

Posted on November 7, 2025

Orlando Pirates’ talented attacker Relebohile Mofokeng returned from injury on Wednesday, contributing to his team’s 3-1 victory over Golden Arrows.

The 21-year-old had been sidelined for a month, missing crucial matches for both his club and country. His comeback was impactful; he provided an assist for Yanela Mbuthuma, who secured the win for the Sea Robbers.

Before his injury, Mofokeng had struggled for form, but he is considered one of the best players in the Premier Soccer League. The School of Excellence youth product might be in contention to start in Saturday’s Carling Knockout Cup match against Richards Bay.

While Pirates celebrated Mofokeng’s return, they also faced a setback with an injury in the first half. Midfielder Sihle Nduli was taken off during the match against Golden Arrows after sustaining a knock from Arrows’ Junior Dion just before halftime.

Thalente Mbatha replaced him with four minutes remaining in the first half.

Mofokeng returns for Pirates but Nduli gets injured

The extent of Nduli’s injury has not been disclosed, but he is likely to miss the upcoming Carling Knockout Cup match against Richards Bay.

Nduli joined the Buccaneers at the start of the season and has already established himself as one of the key players under coach Adeslam Ouaddou. It remains to be seen if the defensive midfielder will be fit to play on Saturday. The club has not yet given an update on the extent of the injury.

Besides Ntuli, Pirates have a full squad for the semi-final match with the likes of Mofokeng, Deano van Rooyen and Makhehlene Makhaula all fit and ready.
