Today’s Orlando Pirates news wrap sees a return for Relebohile Mofokeng and a surprise surge from Kaizer Chiefs.
Chiefs collected their sixth win of the league campaign on Tuesday.
Pirates will leapfrog them with three points against Golden Arrows.
Mofokeng returns for Orlando Pirates
It’s been an indifferent season so far by Rele Mofokeng’s standards. The exciting number 10/winger has only made six league appearances and failed to either score or assist so far. He’s back in contention after missing recent matchday squads, as is utility 20-year-old star Simphiwe Selepe. Mofokeng’s overall record for Pirates is stellar, directly contributing to 41 goals in 101 games for the Sea Robbers.
“There could be a reshuffling of the pack in a match that kicks off a busy week, with the likes of Relebohile Mofokeng and Simphiwe Selepe nearing a return after missing out on a fair bit of the action this season,” an official Orlando Pirates statement read.
Fixtures to close out 2025 for Orlando Pirates
Next up is a clash with Golden Arrows, the first of four remaining league fixtures and five across all competitions this year. Between the match below against Richards Bay on 2 December and their next outing, Pirates will have a whopping 53 days to wait until their next assignment, a trip to Sekhukhune on 24 January 2026. Pirates will be able to call upon the services of key duo Relebohile Mofokeng and Simphiwe Selepe for their trip to Arrows.

Kaizer Chiefs’ resurgence continues
Chiefs beat Orbit College 4-1 thanks to a brace from Mduduzi Shabalala and goals from Mfundo Vilakazi and Flavio Silva. That result puts the Glamour Boys joint-top of the Betway Premiership with Sundowns. However, Pirates can usurp Chiefs with a win over Golden Arrows and then go top of the table by themselves if they collect at least a point in their game in hand against Chippa on 22 November.
