Mofokeng On His Newly-Found Number 10 Role

Posted on February 4, 2026

Orlando Pirates playmaker Relebohile Mofokeng made admission that the number 10 role is more comfortable for him as he plays with freedom and creates chances.

The speedy winger netted and picked up his second back-to-back Man of the Match award as the Buccaneers unseated Mamelodi Sundowns at the top of the Betway Premiership standings going three points clear.

The 21-year-old opened the scoring in the 16th minute and had a hand in the second which came off bar before rebounding off Darren Johnson’s back and into the net.

Speaking to SuperSport TV in his post-match interview, Rele identified his new role as better than playing on the wing.

“There, there is freedom, on the wing you’re close to the line and it narrows you down,” he said.

“10 is where there is space where I can create countless chances, so I think I’m free at 10 because I play with freedom, so I’m comfortable there.”
