Modiba Warns Sundowns About Richards Bay Duo

Posted on September 27, 2025

Mamelodi Sundowns defender Aubrey Modiba has named two Richards Bay FC players that his side must watch out for ahead their Betway Premiership clash.

Masandawana will host the Natal Rich Boyz at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium, aiming to bounce back from their recent loss to Golden Arrows.

Meanwhile, Bay will aim to maintain their impressive momentum after winning their previous two matches.

Modiba warned the Brazilians about midfielder Tlakusani Mthethwa and striker Gabadinho Mhango, who have been highly influential this season.

“They are a very good team with a lot of youngsters especially from the DDC, you can see they are very hungry,” Modiba said during the interview with club’s media department.

“I think Mthethwa in the middle of the park has been collecting man of the matches, he brings stability into their team. That’s one player we need to look out for.

“And obviously, they have a strong attack with Gabadinho Mhango there who’s been doing well. But we’re ready for the task.”

Modiba admitted that the recent mid-week loss has dampened the mood in the Sundowns camp, but he added that they are aiming for a victory this weekend.

“Obviously the mood is down but we can’t dwell on that, we have another game to rectify mistakes,” he added.

“It’s a good thing that it comes quickly after the one we lost against Arrows. Yeah, obviously the talk in the camp is to make sure we bounce back in the next game because we can’t drop points in two consecutive games. At Sundowns, that is not allowed.

“We’re ready for the task, and hopefully we can collect the maximum points.”
