Mngqithi Hails Sundowns Stars – iDiski Times

Posted on December 14, 2025

Golden Arrows coach Manqoba Mngqithi was happy to reunite with his former players Marcelo Allende and Arthur Sales, while hailing their qualities.

The three worked together as part of the PSL All Stars side that played against the Carling Knockout Cup champions Orlando Pirates at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.

Though the All Stars voted for by the fans lost to Pirates, Mngqithi was still excited to work with the pair, saying Allende is one of best midfielders currently in the country, while Sales is a very creative offensive player.

“Those are top players,” said Mngqithi.

“Technically very different and tactically the awareness of Marcelo, he’s probably one of the best midfielders in the country and not many people know him because he hardly spends time on the ball.

“He’s always where he’s supposed to be and my experience of working with him in particular will always tell you how good the boy is.”

“Arthur I have always said, I don’t think he’s a striker but I think he’s a very creative offensive player. And in that position he creates a lot of assists, he’s always where it’s painful for the opponents.

“I was very excited to see them again and we reconnected again because they are my boys.”
