Posted on November 23, 2025

Milford FC went to the top of the Motsepe Foundation Championship, while Baroka FC remain rooted at the bottom of the table.

The return of club football in the MFC began with the Limpopo derby between Venda FC and Black Leopards at Thohoyandou Stadium on Friday. A first-half goal from Deolin Mekoa was enough to hand Maunavhathu maximum points and make it the Leopards’ second consecutive defeat.

On Saturday afternoon, Cape Town City played a goalless draw with Musa Nyatama’s Upington City, while a late goal from Camagu Mdevulana gave AmaTuks maximum points against The Bees. The Tshwane-based side moved to sixth place.

In a five-goal thriller, Kruger United beat Casric Stars by 3-2. Sibusiso Zitha opened the scoring for United before Zebulon Mtshweni equalised for Stars. 11 minutes after half-time, Bongokuhle Maphumulo restored United’s lead. In the 73rd minute, Fils Moukete netted the equaliser for Stars but with five minutes remaining before the final whistle Manquba Zwane scored the third goal for Kruger United to make it 3-2.

Also on Saturday, struggling Baroka held on to a 1-1 draw with Leicesterford City, meaning Bakgakga remain bottom of the table with eight points after 12 matches.

Meanwhile, Milford celebrated a 2-0 win at Highbury on Sunday thanks to goals by Menzi Chili and Mjabulise Mkhize either side of half-time to move to the top of the log.
