Kaizer Chiefs captain Inacio Miguel has downplayed suggestions that Mamelodi Sundowns are low on confidence heading into their much-anticipated Betway Premiership clash at FNB Stadium tonight.
The defending league champions were dumped out of the MTN8 competition this past weekend as Orlando Pirates rallied back in regulation time before securing a penalty shootout victory.
Miguel says they will not fall into the trap of thinking their opponents have suffered a confidence setback as they are focussing on how they can exploit their weaknesses.
“I think people are thinking that because Sundowns lost in their game against Pirates, they’re no longer having confidence,” he responded to a question posed by iDiski Times.
“But I don’t see that. I see it’s part of football. Of course, Sundowns it’s a big club, they play for big trophies but as I said, our focus is not at Sundowns.
“We have to focus in ourselves, in our job, in our duty in what we can to go over Sundowns.
“Of course, we will analyse and see the strengths and the weak points of Sundowns. Of course they’ve got some weak points, the same way they have some strong points.
“And we have to be ready for that. That’s the main focus.”
