Meet Orlando Pirates’ THREE most exciting youngsters

Posted on December 7, 2025

Orlando Pirates have several youngsters knocking on the door for first-team selection as we approach the 2025 AFCON break.

With Mbekezeli Mbokazi sold to Chicago Fire, the Bucaneeers’ conveyor belt could churn out a replacement.

Best Orlando Pirates DDC prospects

Cemran Dansin has already shown off his prodigious talent for the first team with a big goal against Mamelodi Sundowns.

The midfield schemer started consecutive matches for the Sea Robbers in October/November: A 2-1 win over Magesi FC in the Carling Knockout quarter-finals, and then kept his place against Masandawana.

The 20-year-old scored a screamer of a left-foot volley against the Brazilians from the No 10 position, but is also comfortable in deeper-lying midfield roles after showing promise there during his time with the SAFA School of Excellence.

Dansin has been used sparingly since that sparkling moment, but his time will most certainly come.

Padime is already internet famous, but when will he debut for Orlando Pirates

18-year-old Mpho Padime is reportedly training with the senior side.

‘Mphopho’ has already garnered huge interest online, with his Instagram account clocking over 17 000 followers.

Orlando Pirates’ DDC coach Roscoe Krieling has spoken of Padime’s elegance, maturity, tactical smartness and the ability to boss a game from central areas.

Sixteen-year-old central defender Tristan O’Malley is also a name we might see more of in the coming seasons.

He’s been a regular for South Africa’s age group sides. He also won the COSAFA U17 title with Amajimbos.

Orlando Pirates claim Carling Knockout Cup glory

Relebohile Mofokeng was on hand to score in yet another final for the Sea Robbers, snatching a 105th-minute winner in the Carling Knockout showpiece against Marumo Gallants on Saturday.

Fittingly, Mbekezeli Mbokazi captained the side in his final appearances for the club.
