Mbokazi’s agent reveals European club made low offer

Posted on December 4, 2025

Outgoing Orlando Pirates superstar Mbekezeli Mbokazi might have moved to Europe instead of the USA, but his agent found the tabled offer unacceptable.

According to the player’s representative, Basia Michaels, the fee was a slap in the face.

MBEKEZELI MBOKAZI’S AGENT REJECTED EUROPEAN CLUB’S OFFER

As reported by The South African, Mbokazi is joining Chicago Fire in the USA’s Major League Soccer (MLS) on a reported fee of around R52 million.

The 20-year-old makes the move after just 37 matches as a senior footballer for Orlando Pirates. Mbekezeli Mbokazi, known as “TLB,” will officially move to the States when the January transfer window opens on the 1st of next month.

EUROPEAN CLUB SENT AN OFFER TO ORLANDO PIRATES

Meanwhile, Mbekezeli Mbokazi’s agent, Basia Michaels, has revealed that she turned down a low offer from an unnamed club in Europe.

“I had an offer from two teams, one of the offers I had was a slap in the face,” Michaels told Ukhozi FM. “It was a European team that made me an offer of €150 000 (R2.9 million), saying that they would not pay more money.

“So, they didn’t feel the need to pay more money for an African player. They don’t feel the need to have to pay more money,” she added.

Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates and Mbekezeli Mbokazi are sharpening up for this weekend’s Carling Knockout final against Marumo Gallants. The battle will kick off at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday at 18:00.
