Mayo – The Advantage Siwelele Have Ahead Of League Tie

Kaizer Chiefs attacker Khanyisa Mayo has spoken about the advantage that Siwelele FC have ahead of the two clubs’ meeting in the league clash.

Amakhosi and Siwelele will lock horns in the Betway Premiership on Wednesday at the FNB Stadium with kickoff time set for 7:30 pm.

The Free State-based outfit was last in action on 4 October when they were defeated 1-0 by Orlando Pirates in the Carling Knockout Cup.

Meanwhile, the Phefeni Glamour Boys drew 0-0 with AS Simba in the CAF Confederation Cup match this past Saturday.

Mayo says Siwelele holds a distinct advantage, arriving for the fixture as a fresh, well-rested side while Chiefs have had only a few days to prepare after returning home from the DR Congo this past weekend.

“It’s going to be a tough one, every team that plays against Kaizer Chiefs wants to prove themselves that they are better than the players that are playing for Chiefs,” said Mayo.

“But it’s not gonna be an easy one because they have had a rest. And we will only have three or four days before the game.

“But it’s not about the rest, it’s about us preparing mentally to say even though we came from DRC, but we have to prepare for the next game.

“Yes, it won’t be easy for us, but I think the spirit is up and everyone is ready for the game because we also want to be competing in the league not to shy away from worrying about CAF Confederation Cup.

“We want to win in the league also in order to cement our position at the top.”
