Mangosuthu Legacy Cup Postponed, New Date Revealed

Posted on October 8, 2025

The Mangosuthu Legacy Cup, in partnership with the participating clubs including Kaizer Chiefs, has officially postponed the tournament.

The Legacy Cup 2025 was scheduled to take place this Saturday, 11 October 2025 at the Prince Mangosuthu Regional Stadium in Ulundi.

Chiefs, AmaZulu, Nsingizini Hotspur, and Njampela FC were the four teams scheduled to participate in the tournament.

Event organisers have confirmed the postponement following requests from the participating teams that are currently in the CAF competitions.

Amakhosi will face AS Simba of DR Congo in the second preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup. Meanwhile, Nsingizini will take on Simba SC of Tanzania in the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.

The two teams requested the Zululand District Municipality to consider a postponement due to continental travel commitments and concerns over player injuries ahead of the weekend of 18-19 October 2025.

The new date for the tournament is confirmed as 16 November.

“Our tournament has been postponed to 16 November 2025 to accommodate football season commitments,” the tournament organisers announced via social media.

“We apologise to our football supporters for any inconvenience caused. TicketPro will communicate directly with ticket holders to make refund or credit arrangements.

“Thank you for your understanding and continued support!”
