Man United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Newcastle

Posted on December 20, 2025

It was a thrilling weekend of Premier League soccer, with twenty goals scored on Saturday alone.

Tottenham Hotspur kicked off proceedings with a 4-1 thrashing over bitter London rivals West Ham, elevating them to seventh on the table, eight points off the top.

Ange Postecoglou was delighted with his side’s display, telling Sky Sports, “Personally, for me, any game we win, I get equal joy out of it, as I’ve always said. Part of the kind of momentum we built in the second half came through the edge the supporters gave us, especially after the second goal.

“You could really feel the atmosphere inside the stadium lift and that pushed us along and we had a 15-20 minute spell where we were outstanding. It goes hand in hand”.

0 Newcastle vs Brighton 1

2 Southampton vs Leicester 3

0 Ipswich Town vs Everton 2

2 Bournemouth vs Arsenal 0

1 Wolves vs Man City 2

2 Liverpool vs Chelsea 1

Upset of the weekend

Arsenal suffered a shock defeat losing 2-0 to tenth-placed Bournemouth, following goals from Ryan Christie and Justin Kluivert.

They were on the back foot from the 30th minute when William Saliba was shown a straight red card, making it three reds in eight games for the North London giants.

This could be their most costly disciplinary action as they drop further down the log, four points off first-placed Liverpool.

Manchester United walk away victorious

Erik ten Hags managed a comeback victory in front of a packed-out Old Trafford, making it their first win in six games.

The hosts conceded late in the first half as centre-back Ethan Pinnock headed in an open corner. Man United were a man down as the cross travelled into the box – Matthijs de Ligt was controversially told to stay off following a cut on his head.

This caused an uproar on the Manchester United bench.

Anger soon turned into elation as Marcus Rashford delivered an inch-perfect pass to a charging Alejandro Garnacho, who then volleyed the ball into the top-right corner.

Rasmus Hojlund then provided the dagger blow with a composed chip over Dutch goalkeeper Mark Flekken.
