Makhoye Makes Bold Relegation Claim For Orbit

Posted on February 17, 2026

Orbit College head coach Pogiso Makhoye has refused to panic in the wake of their latest defeat which leaves them just one point from safety.

Mswenko Boyz have garnered just a single point from their last seven league matches, culminating in a 15th-place ranking with 14 points accumulated from 18 games.

Given Magesi FC’s two games in hand, Orbit faces the risk of automatic relegation should Magesi secure victories in both of their outstanding fixtures. Notably, Makhoye’s team conceded the highest number of goals in the league, tallying 32, a statistic that bodes poorly for any team, particularly when compared with their 14 scored goals, which approximate half of the conceded total.

Following a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Sekhukhune United on Sunday, Makhoye maintained composure, asserting that panic is unwarranted, even in the event of relegation, given their familiarity with achieving promotion.

“Why should we panic? If we have to be relegated, we can be relegated but we know how to promote the team, but we will keep on fighting until the end of the game,” he told the media.

“And I am happy with the performance today because the past 17 games, we’ve been playing a low block allowing opponents to dictate the games but today we came here it was a different story at least we controlled the game.

“I think it’s for the first time this season we played like this that’s why we going back to our old philosophy and conceding two goals there compared to when we were sitting at the back conceding three.

“I am happy today, and scored from our own mistakes because we attacking. We don’t sit and say we need to protect 1-0 because they are leading it’s always gonna happen where you open up at the back trying to get an equalizer.”
