New Kaizer Chiefs signing Lebohang Maboe has revealed that he will not be featuring for Amakhosi just as yet, as he is working on his fitness.
Maboe who is a product of the Chiefs development structures spent most of his professional career at Mamelodi Sundowns where he played for seven years and in the last one was sent on loan at the defunct SuperSport United. But he has come full circle after being signed and unveiled by Chiefs last month.
Coach Nasredinne Nabi has also spoken on his midfielder, saying his qualities and experience will come in handy, however Maboe is still working with the fitness coach. Speaking at the Nedbank multipurpose court handover at Phulong Secondary School in Kwa-Thema Ekurhuleni on Monday Maboe said he wants to get to a point where he can start and finish a game.
“I think right now I just want to focus on getting my body back to where I know my body can, you know, sustain the whole 90 minutes, which is not the case right now, if I’m being honest with myself as well,” he said.
“But yeah, I just want to work hard during the FIFA break and let’s see what happens after the FIFA break.”
