Lyle Foster scores at Old Trafford against Man United

Posted on December 12, 2025

Burnley and Bafana Bafana striker Lyle Foster was on target during his side’s Premier League match against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

Playing at home, United bossed possession in the early stages and were rewarded in the 27th minute after forcing an own goal. The home side pushed for a second goal but poor finishing let them down.

Lyle Foster on song

Burney created few chances in the first half and it was no surprise that they failed to hit a shot on target. Going into half-time with a 1-0 lead, Man United looked more comfortable and in control.

In the second half, The Clarets found an equaliser through Lyle Foster in the 55th minute. The South African international slotted home from a wonderful Jacob Bruun Larsen cross, in which was Burnley’s first shot on target.

The home side restored their lead 15 minutes from the restart through Bryan Mbeumo. A few minutes later, Lyle Foster scored his second but was denied by the offside flag.

Jaidon Anthony then equalised for Burnley in the 66th minute to once again bring Burnley back in the game. Unfortunately for Burnley, Man United scored a late winner from the penalty spot to snatch all three points.

How good is Foster?
