Lupopo & Sundowns Starting XIs Confirmed

St. Eloi Lupopo and Mamelodi Sundowns have announced their starting line-ups for the blockbuster clash at the TP Mazembe Stadium this afternoon.

It’s a must-win match for both sides, to put themselves in a more comfortable position ahead of the last round of matches. Sundowns find themselves in an unfamiliar position in the CAF Champions League group stages after dropping to third place following MC Alger’s 2-1 win over Al Hilal on Friday.

The Betway Premiership champions need to avoid defeat against Lupopo this afternoon, to keep their fate in their own hands, as a win in their final group match would see them qualify.

Masandawanas are high in spirit after managing to book a place in the Nedbank Cup Last 16, beating Gomora United midweek.

But they’ve been struggling to get results away from home, losing to Al Hilal SC and drawing against MC Alger. Miguel Cardoso has to push Sundowns to get results this afternoon to ease the pressure on him and the players.

Last time these two sides faced each other, Sundowns beat Lupopo 3-1, but that was in Pretoria, not in Lubumbashi.

Here is how they line-up:

St Lupopo XI: tbc.

Subs:

Sundowns XI: Williams, Mudau, Ndamane, Kekana, Modiba, Adams, Mokoena, Santos, Morena, Sales, Shalulile

Subs: Onyango, Reisinho, Allende, Leon, Rayners, Matthews, Lunga, Zwane, Johannes
