Posted on October 24, 2025

Thembinkosi Lorch was on the scoresheet as Wydad Athletic Club booked their ticked for the CAF Confederation Cup group stages with an emphatic win.

The Moroccan giants eased past Asante Kotoko after thrashing them 5-1 at home on Friday evening to advance 6-1 on aggregate.

Hamza Hannouri opened the scoring in the first minute already, but the visitors equalised via Gilbani Samba after 19 minutes.

In the 26th minute, Stephane Aziz Ki restored Wydad’s lead, before Lorch got on the scoresheet in the 54th minute with a cheeky panenka penalty.

Wydad then put the icing on the cake, adding two more goals in the 85th and 91st minute to book their spot in the CAFCC group stages.
