Letlhaku Pays Homage To Mshishi

Posted on September 17, 2025

Mamelodi Sundowns teenager Kutlwano Letlhaku says he dedicated his first goal of the season to his role model and captain Themba Zwane.

Letlhaku, 19, has been subject of major interest from Europe in recent months but Sundowns have made it clear they view him as an important part of their squad this season.

He’s featured in six of their nine opening games, and opened his account on Sunday in the 3-0 win over Magesi, notably dropping the famed ‘Mshishi’ celebration.

“I was very happy, I’ve been longing to score because I have been playing very well but not getting those chances of scoring, so over the weekened I was very happy to score,” he said.

“The celebration was meant for our captain Themba Zwane, because he’s been my role model for such a long time, so everything I do, I want to make him proud, because it’s a priveldge to play with him on the same field.”

The veteran playmaker endured a heartbreaking return to the field in the game on Sunday, suffering another injury, in which he limped off the pitch visibly emotional.

Sundowns are now in the run against time to secure a couple of new players to boost their squad, before the transfer deadline on Monday.
