Khune Praises Bafana Star – iDiski Times

Posted on December 31, 2025

Itumeleng Khune has spoken highly of Bafana Bafana striker Lyle Foster following his performance against Zimbabwe.

The Burnley striker has made significant impact in the tournament, scoring two goals and providing two assists in three group-stage matches.

He is behind Brahim Diaz, Ayoub El Kaabi and Riyad Mahrez, who all have three goals each.

Khune praised Foster’s goal against Zimbabwe on Monday, noting that the striker displayed hunger and a strong desire to score.

“We rely on him as number nine, he showed his bravery with his second goal when he went one on one with the goalkeeper,” said Khune on SABC Sport.

“The referees always protect the goalkeepers inside the box, but he won the ball, and it went to the back of the net.

“It’s something we want to see when the strikers are inside the box. They must show hunger and the will to score.

“He did show that he plays in the European league where they are very physical. He was even bleeding, and he took one for the team.”
