Khanye Predicts AFCON Semis – iDiski Times

Posted on January 15, 2026

SA football analyst Junior Khanye has made a bold prediction about Wednesday’s 2025 AFCON semi-finals between Senegal and Egypt as well as Morocco and Nigeria.

The penultimate round kicks off later today which coincides with history been made as for the first time in the Africa Cup of Nations, all four semi-finalists in 2025 are guided by African coaches which means this year’s title will be won by a homegrown tactician.

Walid Regragui coaches Morocco, Hossam Hassan Egypt, Pape Thiaw of Senegal, and Eric Chelle who is from Mali but leads Nigeria.

In his predictions, Khanye has given both North African nations commanding victories by predicting that Egypt will beat Senegal 2-0 with the Super Eagles going down 3-0 to the hosts Morocco.

“Senegal vs Egypt. Egypt has plenty of quality because of I think like I always say, if the country has one of the teams that will dominate continental football, there’s no way they cannot be in top,” he said.

“Senegal, Sadio Mane and others they play top league in Europe but not that they gonna match a team more organised and structure. I see Egyptian winning this game 2-0.

“Morocco vs Nigeria, this one is very difficult. They hosting and have top class players and they also have the powerhouse. Like I always say, the team that dominate coninental football, gives the national team an advantage. Also, they’ve go European superstars I’m talking about [Brahim] Diaz who lives up to expectations, [Achraf] Hakimi the captain bring experience.

“Nigeria I think they rely on individual, [Ademola] Lookman.

“I see 3-0, definitely sure. Morocco, they going to win the game.”
