iDiski TV analyst Junior Khanye has hailed attacking Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Gaston Sirino for his goal and performance against Richards Bay, saying he is ‘special’ like Lucas Ribeiro.
Sirino came off the bench to score the only goal of the game, a scorcher from outside the box to hand Chiefs their third successive league victory this season.
Amakhosi are one of the only two sides with a perfect record so far this campaign, sitting in second place on the log table with nine points behind Sekhukhune United who have a healthier goal difference.
Khanye complimented the goal and insisted Sirino is a “special player” but he can at times look ordinary due to the quality around him.
“That was a world-class goal,” said Khanye on iDiski TV.
“We need to complement that goal; the Chiefs that I know scores like this, and you need star players.
“Sirino is a star, but I don’t think his mind-set is the right one and another thing could be playing with players who are not at your standard you end up looking ordinary because Sirino is a special player. One of the best international players imported to South Africa.
“Sirino, like [Lucas] Ribeiro, is on another level but also playing for a team that doesn’t challenge for trophies and in the league always out of the picture and sometimes even out of the top 8, you are obviously going to be an ordinary player.
“Sirino is a special player I mean look at the goal he scored and last season he scored a similar goal.”
