Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Cedric Kaze has revealed what is inspiring his side ahead of its meeting with AS Simba.
The two sides will face off in the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup second preliminary round this Sunday, October 26, at the FNB Stadium.
Amakhosi will be aiming to qualify for the group stages having last taken part in the CAF interclub competitions in the 2020/21 where they surprisingly reached the Champions League final.
The two sides played a goalless draw in the first leg that took place in DR Congo.
Kaze hopes they can emulate their performance in the first preliminary round’s second leg, where they overcame a 1-0 aggregate loss to defeat Kabuscorp of Angola on penalties.
The Chiefs gaffer dominated the game and created sufficient chances to win the match outright. He says it’s one of their best games this season even though they didn’t bury the opportunities.
“I believe that game was one of our best even though we only managed to score one goal,” said Kaze.
“But I believe that we had about five or six chances to score in that game. The intensity was good, the accuracy, technical combinations and the balance of the team offensively and defensively was good.
“I believe that if we are able to do what we did in that game, I think our performance in the second leg of the second preliminary round will also be positive.”
